School

Whitney started her second year of preschool this week. This year she is attending school Monday- Thursday from 9am-1pm.  The last hour is lunch bunch so we have to make lunch everyday now!  But she is super excited about this extra time at school.

  She missed the orientation and the first day due to our Disney trip.  Yes, not a big deal because it is just preschool.  But as you all know it takes Whitney a bit to warm up to situations.  I talked to the director and we set up a time to come in last week so Whitney could meet her new teachers and see her classroom.  When she went to school on Tuesday she felt very comfortable and ran out asking when she gets to go again!  Also, both of her teachers have already told me how she is coming out of her shell and talking a lot.  I am excited to see what this year will bring and that more people will get to see the funny, smart, fun-loving girl we see at home!

Labor Day at the Lake

Our 7th annual trip with friends to the Bowlin's family lake house.  This post may sound familiar.  Kayaking, laying out by the lake, ATV'ing, smores and good old fashioned games.  It is a trip we look forward to every year and a great way to end the summer.  We all have kids very close in age so it is so fun to watch them play together and create memories just like we have been doing!  Whitney and Colin both loved their rides on the ATV and ranger and swimming in the lake. Thanks Bowlin's for another amazing trip!

Kiawah and Charlotte

This was my second annual long vacation to Kiawah.  After spending 10 days there last summer I quickly decided I would love to do this every August!  Luckily, it happened again this year!

We arrived in Kiawah on Thursday, August 1st to spend a long weekend with my Mom's family.  All her siblings were able to make it which was such a treat!  We enjoyed many hours at the pool, beach and great food and conversation.  Tim had to head back to work that Monday and others left too as they needed to get home.  My parents treated me to a facial at the spa and I was also able to sneak out one day to meet up with friends in Charleston!  Are very fun and relaxing time.

Then on Wednesday I packed up the kids and we headed over to visit the other grandparents in Charlotte!  They were ready for us with a whole kids kitchen set up and a lot of other fun toys.  Sue took Whitney to Discovery Place one morning.  I was able to get out to some of my favorite kid's consignment stores.  And I also squeezed in a massage!    Tim flew in on Friday night and Saturday we had a date night with Brady and Niki.  We finally got to see their gorgeous new house!  Sunday we headed back to Kiawah for one last day at the beach.

Monday the 12th we headed home and left with many wonderful memories!
