15 months

What is Mr. Colin up to...everything!  This little guy is all over the place and trying to master climbing.  He has figured out that if he puts something in front of the couch he can get up himself.  I have found him standing on top the ottoman.  In attempt to sit on his little play chair he ends up on top of the table.  He keeps me on my toes!

He loves baby dolls.  After Mama and Papa, baby is his first word.  Pronounced "babay".  He loves on all of Whitney's baby dolls around the house.  Carries them on his shoulder, giving them hugs and kisses.  It is so cute.  A little tough when a real baby is around because he wants to get on top of them and shower them with love too!

Poor guy just got over Croup.  That barking seal I had always heard about slowly emerged over a few days.  He handled it very well.  Since we had to go to the doctor we got a weight update.  26.12 lbs.  Big boy!  We will find out his height next week at his well visit.  Though according to Whitney's growth chart I think it is around 31" ( 2 inches shorter than W at this age)!

Along with walking at 13 1/2 months, he also started signing.  Finally, after all these months he just broke them out like a pro.  He signs more, eat, drink, all done, please and potty.  It is great he communicate so well and he is very proud of it too.

Yes, I did say potty.  I won't go into huge detail because I wrote a big post about it when I potty trained Whitney early.  But I will say that I started him on the potty at 11 months, he goes in the potty more than he doesn't, I am hopeful he will be in underwear at 18 months like his big sis, and it is much more fun sitting there for a few minutes than wrestling with him when changing his diaper!

He still takes two naps which is awesome!  The morning nap is about 1 hr 15 min.  Then the afternoon is a good 2 hours.  At night he sleeps 7:30pm-7am.   He loves to sleep!  Shout out to the amazing Baby Whisperer book for the gift of good sleep and early potty training!

He loves to swing on the new play set.  He loves to dig in the dirt (and eat it too).  He still LOVES to dance.  It is so cute how he breaks out dancing anytime he hears music.  He continues to woo us over with his charm and sweetness!

Whitney is Four!

I really can't believe I am now saying that I have a four year old.  Sometimes I love to just sit and watch her as she goes about playing or dancing or simply walking through the room.  I can't believe she is mine!

We don't get in to our new pediatrician till July but our at home stats are 39.2 lbs and 42".  Continues to top the charts!

Whitney is sweet, beautiful, hysterical, smart, polite, and so thoughtful!

It is so fun to watch and listen to her little mind work.  She loves puzzles, maps, making lists and asking lots of "Why, Mama".  Even if I don't have anymore answers to give!  She is a deep thinker and always trying to figure things out.

She has been singing more and more around the house.  While she is playing and while she is laying in bed.  I love to hear that little voice over the monitor.  We listen to a lot of music around here and she knows many songs and loves to dance.  Lately, she has been showing off some intepretive break dancing moves.  She continues to love to kick a ball and continues to amaze us at how good she is at it!  We have signed her up for soccer and dance class this summer.  Can't wait!

The girl loves to clean.  Her favorite thing is to clean the windows.  One day Grandma was making a tent by putting the blanket in the window and told Whitney how they would need to clean the windows afterwards.  I do believe Whitney was more excited to clean windows than the tent!  She also enjoys vacuuming, folding towels and helping make the bed.

We have always involved her in cooking but she has shown extreme interested lately.  She comes running in in tears if we have started making dinner without her.  She loves to help measure ingredients and stir them.  And snapping the ends of asparagus has even gotten her eating them!  We love that food, cooking and eating is a way our family comes together everyday and has fun.

Whitney has completed her first year of preschool.  She definitely only shows her quiet side at school but absolutely loves it.  She has made friends and even had her first play date without me!  It was very exciting.  The main focus this year has been shapes, cutting, writing their name, learning patterns and learning to follow directions.  They also have science class where they have learned about mixing colors, magnets and how different elements react in water.  A class all the kids love!

Whitney's sweetness is remarkable to me.  How much she understands what love means and how she shows it.  Her affection is just heart warming.  Especially, towards her little brother.  I hope to continue to nurture this side of her.

I love hanging out with Whitney.  When we get out for a short Mama and daughter time I just soak it in.  She asks me questions, tells me stories and lately loves to hold my hand.  She also continues to constantly make us laugh!  Of course we think she is just the most perfect little lady!

On Whitney's birthday morning I saw she was awake and waiting for her clock to tell her it was time to get up, so I ran in to get some snuggle time.  We laid in bed looking at baby pictures and I told her how the day she was born was one of the best days of our lives.  She said, "You mean when I popped out of your belly?".  I said, yes.  She said, "But I don't remember hearing it pop!"  I think I am really going to love all that comes with this little 4 year old!

This weekend we had a full fledged birthday party.  Most of her school class was able to come, which was super exciting for Whitney.  We had lots of fun activities.

My Uncle Tom made a super cool chalk board.
Our new swing set arrived two days before!

The sprinklers were a huge hit!

The singing of Happy Birthday was a little overwhelming but she held it together!

Hanging with Aunt M and Colin while waiting for cake!

Cake!

Uncle Casey getting into a little trouble with Colin.

Whitney had a blast at her birthday dinner with her close friends, Leighton and Avery!

Lots of presents!!

Our beautiful girl!
