WE ARE HAVING A BABY

August 31st, Whitney's first day of school, I found out I was pregnant.  I had been putting off taking a pregnancy test because I thought I was crazy for even thinking I was pregnant.  Hadn't even mentioned it to Tim.  But as each day passed, I knew it was time to take a test.  I cannot even explain how shocked I was!  To say the least, these Fall months came with many emotions.  But we are very excited that we will have another baby BOY joining our family in early May.

We wanted to do something fun for the gender reveal and Tim came up with the idea of party poppers.  I had the midwives put our news in an envelope and I asked our friend Brittany to take the pictures.  It was a super fun way to find out what we were having and here are a few pictures from that day!

And here are a few sonogram pictures of the baby boy!

Cool 4D photos of his face.  They are wavy because they are surrounded by water.

6 1/2

Now this girl deserves a post!  We are so proud of Whitney.  She is just blossoming at school.  It is so fun to watch her enthusiasm for learning.  She continues to impress us with her math skills and reading.  Her teacher just raved about her at her school conference.  Once again, since this is my blog, I get to brag all I want.  So hear it goes!

I am so happy with Whitney's teacher because she was not only able to articulate how Whitney was doing in school (which is right on track), but in just a few short months she really had observed and was impressed with Whitney's character.  She said that most kids are selective about who they sit next to on the rug because they never know when they may be paired up to the person to their left.  But Whitney does not show any discrimination and is happy and will to work with anyone.  A common trait for a 6 year old is that when their friend is talking they can't wait for them to stop so they can say what is on their mind.  She said Whitney listens carefully, and may even ask them a question before revealing her thoughts.  What a grown up little girl!  She works well in groups and asks her peers for help when she needs it.  Her teacher said she would have a classroom full of Whitneys if she could!

Whitney continues to be the ring leader of our little trio.  She plays so patiently with Colin and helps look after Lauren when I am in another room or upstairs.  She is an excellent role model for her siblings.

Her favorite things continue to be legos and crafts.  These activities keep her happy for hours!

Whitney we are so lucky to call you ours!  You are a polite, thoughtful, funny and creative girl! We love you!

Halloween

As my few faithful followers know, I am WAY behind on blog posts!  So, I am going to catch up the last few months with some photos.  It was a super fun holiday season!

Pumpkin Carving.  Whitney was not thrilled about the sticky insides.

Colin did not mind getting elbow deep!

Freshly bathed babe, wanted to get in on it.

Traditional Jack-O-Lantern and Woody

Parade

Trunk or Treat at Preschool

Ready to hit the streets!

Excited about all the loot!  They each got to enjoy a few that night and then pick 10 more to keep.  Mean mom I know.  But that is how it goes these days!

Three and a Half

Three and a Half!  So far I still think three is the hardest age.  Try negotiating with a three your old who is screaming at you, you may lose your mind.  But luckily, Colin is full of cuteness and hilariousness, to make up for our tough moments!

He has grown an inch since his birthday, now measuring 38.5 inches.  He is also thinning out a little bit...still gotta weigh him, but probably about 35 lbs.

This summer we introduced him to the movie Toy Story and he became obsessed.  We got a hand-me-down Buzz and Woody and he has pretty much played with them everyday since.  He recently got into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Since I don't approved of the new version, I ordered a DVD of the old 1980's shows and he has been happy with that.  He is also going to be Leonardo for Halloween.

One of his favorite things to do is take off all of the pillows on the couch and climb and jump on them.  Both of his sisters have endured some bumps and bruises from this, but he masterfully has come out clean.

He recently has gotten into coloring and enjoys this activity with Whitney.  He also talks her ear off the whole time about what he is coloring and which color and why.  He continues to be the talker in the family.  He loves to tell stories and jokes.  He is happy to tell us all about his school day too.

He is still such a little lover.  He loves Whitney so much and is heartbroken when she isn't up for playing (which isn't often) or if she is playing with her friends.  He is crushed and has a hard time handling these emotions.  But fortunately, with Lauren getting older their relationship is developing nicely.  Although they love to wrestle and pick on each other, he is always looking out for her and wanting to help her out.

Colin is a sweet, funny, inquisitive, stubborn, loving little boy and we can't imagine our life without him!

He woke up from a two hour nap but I guess he was still tired.  I will take the snuggles any day!

This one can tame his tantrums!

Air show with big sis (and Papa).
